Muzaffargarh has connections with other cities by several means of transportation.
The town is linked to the rest of the district by paved roads that stretch for 983.69 km. Buses to Multan leave frequently, because of their close proximity to each other. There are also buses that travel to more distant destinations. The N-5 National Highway connects the city to the other parts of Pakistan. This highway allows for direct travel to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Bahawalpur.
Muzaffargarh is connected by rail with all parts of Pakistan, as it lies on the branch track between Rawalpindi, Multan, Mianwali and Attock. The main Peshawar-Karachi railway line passes through Multan district.
Muzaffargarh has no Airport. The people of Muzaffargarh primarily use the Multan International Airport. A rise in air travel in the region has led to the expansion of the airport with a new runway and terminal.

The city can throw weather surprises at any time of year, so be prepared but never fear – there is always the perfect activity for any condition.
Wind, rain, shine Muzaffargarh has it all, and visitors should be ready for anything. Get ready to experience variations from chilly summer nights to hot summer days where an air-conditioner is scarce, to brutally cold winter days of grey and darkness from 6 pm. Despite its reputation as a warm city, Muzaffargarh has regular but generally light precipitation throughout the year. With an average precipitation of around 601mm, this is actually less than many major cities around the world such as Rome, Sydney or New York.
Extreme recorded temperatures range from 48.1°C to – 0°C and higher temperatures have been more common lately, with the highest temperature ever recorded in London at 49.1°C .
Summers (June to August) are warm, with temperatures averaging a comfortable 40-45°C, while winters (December to February) are cool and damp, with average temperatures around 8°C. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September and November) seasons are pleasant with temperatures averaging around 10°C – 0°C .
The best time to visit Muzaffargarh is from spring to summer, between March to August (Mango Season) though autumn is very pleasant as well. The average low temperatures vary from 0°C to 13.7°C and average high temperatures range from 25°C to 49°C. It’s a good idea to pack light/summer/lawn clothes during your visit.
